Hello, my name is Herenia. I was born in Cuba and moved to the United States in 1964, when I was 5 years old, with my mother and my sisters (Dad came in 1961). I grew up in Harlem, Washington Heights New York, and later New Jersey. I have been in Florida for 29 years now. I have an older sister and a twin sister (she passed away 6 years ago). I have a 31-year-old son, and 3 grandchildren. I love to travel internationally. I have been (so far) to Scotland, Portugal, Spain (3 times), Amsterdam and London. I have a few hobbies that I use as my self care tools. I love to craft, have been doing it for about 40 years. I love to make gift baskets. I am a huge fan of horror movies, some Romcoms are good too! I love the mountains and just going for long walks. I became a social worker to assist families with limited English language skills and no understanding of services available get access to care for their loved ones. My twin sister was born cognitively impaired and later was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and I saw how my parents struggled to get help for her.
