Claire Paluzzi

Antioch University Los Angeles, MA in Clinical Psychology

Hello, my name is Claire, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with experience supporting adolescents and families with a range of mental health needs, including addiction and LGBTQ+ related challenges. I have 4 years of clinical experience, including training at a substance abuse recovery center, and working with clients in in a private practice setting. As a Queer person raising a Jewish family with my partner, I also understand how different identities shape the way we experience the world. My goal is to help younger clients understand that their experiences make sense, and that they are not alone. A fun fact is that my path to working in mental health began with a past career in video production. While volunteering and filming at a recovery center in Northern Thailand, I interviewed individuals facing struggles with mental health and substance abuse. This, along with an interest and passion for Psychology, inspired me to pursue a career where I could more closely support people working through these types of difficulties. In my spare time, I do video creation and painting as artistic hobbies. I work with adolescents and young people to help them feel seen, understood, and supported. I create a space where emotions can be explored, experiences can be understood, and coping skills can be developed at a comfortable, manageable pace. Approaches such as mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, narrative therapy, art therapy, and other methods are often incorporated to support each person’s needs. If you are struggling with your emotions, exploring your identity, navigating substance abuse, or facing personal or family challenges, I welcome you to reach out and explore what therapy would look like for you.
