"Hello, my name is Nancy Gonzalez, I been in the field of mental health for the past ten years. I am of Mexican descent, first generation college student and a bilingual/bicultural clinician specializing in supporting students of diverse backgrounds. I am fluent in Spanish and enjoy working with students dealing with anxiety, depression, and any thoughts that may limit you from being your true self. As a child, I grew up in a low income neighborhood, surrounded by gangs and violence. I quickly learned about safety and how to become independent as a result of this. I welcome students of all backgrounds and needs. In my approach as a clinician, I use several approaches which include but are not limited to a Strengths Based Approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art/Play Therapy and the use Narrative therapy as a form of expression. I graduated with a Masters in Social Work (MSW) and have worked in the field with various non profits, government agencies and hospitals. I am a parent of a nine year old boy who is in the fourth grade. We enjoy spending time together going to the park to play soccer and trying new foods. I also enjoy going on hikes and watching my favorite series on Netflix. I am excited to work with you, to listen to what is taking place and help you in this journey!"
