Hello, my name is Mardene Esparza (she/her). I am Mexican-American, born and raised in San Diego. In 2013 I graduated with a Masters degree in Social Work from Edinboro University of PA. During my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, hosting celebrations, hanging out with my toddler, and I am a lover of all animals. I can personally relate to how meaningful it can be for a young person to have at least one person who is here for them, especially if you are experiencing life challenges. I am passionate about helping students in areas like; grief/ loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationships, affect dysregulation, & self esteem. I hope to make students feel supported by building trust & rapport, listening to them, and offering tools they can use. I have worked with a diverse population including those who identify as LGBTQIA+ & BIPOC. Other approaches I use include; Brief Strategic therapy, CBT, DBT, and TF-CBT.
