Hello, my name is Janet Salazar, and I hold a master's degree in Social Work from Denver University, Colorado. I have a fiancé and a nephew with whom I cherish spending time. I place great importance on self-care, as I believe it is essential for enhancing both physical and mental well-being. My interests include cross fit, running, hiking, traveling, and enjoying coffee outings with my sister. My journey in working with youth began while I was pursuing my associate's degree, during which I discovered my passion for assisting others, particularly children and families. I enjoy providing a safe space and helping individuals and families in improving communication and relationships at home. I enjoy working with clients facing challenges such as anxiety disorders, stress, and grief and loss. I aim to provide clients with psychoeducation regarding their symptoms and triggers to facilitate an improvement in their overall quality of life. I employ various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Empty Chair Intervention, Play Therapy, Family Therapy, to assist clients in achieving their goals. I also use worksheets to provide clients and families with visual aids as these can assist in achieving their treatment goals. I am here to listen, offer support, and teach healthier coping strategies for life's challenges!
