Welcome, I鈥檓 Gaby. I鈥檓 a somatic therapist, yoga & meditation guide and Ayurvedic health counselor with over a decade of experience in integrative health and over two decades formally exploring the psychology of being human. I am a Filipina-Italian-American, cisgender woman who grew up in a blended household and spent much of my life navigating liminal spaces. I have the pulse of the cities that shaped me (DC, Brooklyn & Berkeley) yet I feel most at home in the wild. My path to psychotherapy is nonlinear as most often they are. I am a corporate advertising burnout who deviated from expectations of success to pursue greater alignment and purpose in my work. In my process of re-evaluating my path, I explored many hats. I volunteered at a NGO, worked on farms, served tables, figuratively and quite literally chopped wood and carried water through the mountains. I am a devout creative, lifelong photographer and artist who holds a relentless curiosity for understanding humanity and our relationship to all things. I am deeply moved by the process of supporting individuals to explore pathways of self-understanding and uncovering what stirs the heart. This has been a common thread woven throughout my life in years of strategic planning and exploring human behavior in advertising, training and mentoring future yoga teachers, supporting individuals' health journeys through Ayurveda and now in the work of somatic psychotherapy. Beyond these integral pieces that make up my life鈥檚 work, I have a reverence for Nature, ritual, relationship and the unseen ways we are connected. I find joy in moving my body, rock climbing, and an ordinary conversation over tea. Fun fact? Six years ago I bought a used van and built it out on the side of a hill, renting tools from the local tool library. His name is Vincent Van Go and he taught me the lessons: perfect is the enemy of good enough and learn how to love the process. While I no longer live on the road, Van Go still travels with me for adventures and whenever I go to teach retreats. Ultimately, I love the alchemy that unfolds in shared spaces of vulnerability, discovery and embodied presence. My hope is to share the kind of support that offers you a place of curiosity, connection and freedom to rediscover all that you are.
