I began my career as a teacher, where I quickly discovered a deep passion for guiding and supporting students in their growth. Over time, I became increasingly aware of the significant mental health challenges many students faced鈥攔anging from anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation to concerns about their future, identity, and spirituality. This growing need inspired me to pursue a new path in counseling. Encouraged by others who often described me as a compassionate listener and a trusted source of insight, I felt called to deepen my skills and expand my impact. I made the decision to pursue a master's degree in counseling so I could better support students navigating life's complex challenges and transitions. Outside of my professional life, I find joy and renewal in nature, my faith, and creative pursuits such as building with Legos, arts and crafts, and sewing. Most of all, I cherish quality time spent with my family. During my years as a teacher, I became increasingly aware that many student behaviors were shaped by underlying experiences鈥攔anging from difficulties at home and social pressures to unresolved trauma. As I deepened my understanding of trauma and its long-term impact, it became clear that these behaviors were often adaptive responses to past pain, not simply disciplinary issues or personality traits. This insight profoundly shaped my approach to counseling. I work from a trauma-informed perspective, recognizing that each person carries a unique story marked by resilience and survival. In our sessions, I aim to create a safe and compassionate space where we explore not just "what鈥檚 wrong," but rather, "what happened?" and "how did you survive?" These questions guide our journey toward healing, self-awareness, and meaningful growth.
