Hi! My name is Aina (pronounced Ah-ēna). I’m a licensed therapist in North Carolina. I’ve been working in the mental health field for 20+ years and I have spent the majority of that time working with children, adolescents and young adults. I’ve worked in various settings ranging from acute hospitals to residential placement settings to schools and and private practice settings. My experience varies, as I have worked with individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse, depression and anxiety, self- harm behaviors and suicidal ideation, as well as the adolescent sexual offender population. Also, because I have spent such a significant amount of time working with the school- aged population, I am very attuned to the challenges and struggles that they tend to face. I believe that in all the years that I have spent working with young people that I have learned just as much from them, as they have from me. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, attending sporting events (Go Eagles! Go Sixers!) and trying new cuisine.
